Buyer Terms
By ordering on Wewo you accept these Buyer Terms, the general Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not order.
1. Who you are buying from
Wewo is a marketplace, not the seller. Every product is sold by an independent store, and your purchase contract is with that store. The store — not Wewo — is responsible for the product, its description, and its delivery. Wewo runs the storefront, the checkout, the payment hold, and dispute moderation, and every store on the platform has passed full document verification before it could sell.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your province) to order.
- Provide accurate contact and delivery details. An order sent to an address you entered incorrectly is your responsibility; contact the store immediately if you notice a mistake.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share it, and tell us if it is compromised.
3. Prices and ordering
- Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout based on your province and shown before you pay.
- A listing is an offer by the store, not a guarantee of availability. If a store cannot fulfil your order, it will be cancelled and you will be refunded in full.
- By placing an order you commit to pay the total shown at checkout, including taxes and the delivery option you selected.
4. Payments
- Card payments go through Wewo's secure checkout. Your payment is held by the platform and released to the store only when delivery is confirmed — that hold is your core protection, and it is why you must not pay a store outside the platform.
- Interac orders must be completed within 48 hours of placement, or the order is automatically cancelled.
- Never pay a store directly for an order you found on Wewo. Off-platform payments have no buyer protection, no payout hold, and no dispute process — and asking a store to transact off-platform violates these terms.
5. Delivery
- The store ships within the time stated on its listing, or within 3 business days if none is stated. Tracking is provided where the delivery method supports it.
- Confirm delivery in your orders as soon as the item arrives and matches the listing. If you do not confirm, delivery is confirmed automatically 14 days after shipment and the payment is released to the store — so inspect your order promptly and report problems before that point.
- If you chose pickup, collect within the store's stated pickup hours. Uncollected pickup orders follow the store's stated policy and may be cancelled with a refund minus any costs the store actually incurred.
- Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. If a tracked parcel shows delivered but you did not receive it, open a claim immediately — do not wait.
6. Returns and refunds
- Open a return request from your order while the order is still open. The store has 3 days to respond; silence means the request is automatically approved.
- Items that are not as described, defective, or wrong are returned at the store's cost and refunded in full. For change-of-mind returns, the cost follows the outcome of the claim.
- Returned items must come back in the condition received, unless the return is because the item was defective or not as described.
- Refunds go to your original payment method. Refund timing after approval depends on your bank or card issuer.
7. Disputes and buyer protection
- If a store does not resolve your problem, escalate to a platform dispute. While a return or dispute claim is open, the payout to the store is held — it cannot be released until the claim is resolved.
- Wewo moderates on the evidence both sides provide and decides the outcome, including release, hold, or refund. Platform decisions are binding for the money held on the platform; they do not prevent you from pursuing a court claim.
- Use the dispute process honestly. False claims, threats, and chargeback abuse — opening a card chargeback while a platform claim is open, or after a claim was decided against you — may lead to account suspension.
- If you believe you were charged in error, contact us through the Contact page before filing a chargeback, so we can resolve it faster.
8. Reviews
- Reviews must reflect your genuine experience with the product and the store. Do not post reviews for products you did not buy, accept payment for a review, or threaten a bad review to extract a refund.
- Wewo may remove reviews that violate these rules.
9. Prohibited buyer conduct
- Fraud of any kind; false delivery, return, or dispute claims; harassment of stores or staff; and any attempt to bypass verification, fees, or the payment hold are prohibited and lead to suspension or a permanent ban.
- You may not use the platform to resell counterfeit goods or to facilitate any illegal activity.
10. Liability
Wewo's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question, except where the law does not allow a limit. Wewo is not liable for a store's products or fulfilment, but the payment hold and dispute process above are your remedies on the platform for store problems.
11. Changes and governing law
Wewo may update these Buyer Terms with notice on this page or by email. Continued ordering after the change takes effect means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
