Seller Terms
By opening or operating a store on Wewo you accept these Seller Terms, the general Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not sell on Wewo.
1. Who you are selling as
Wewo is a marketplace, not your employer, agent, or partner, and not the seller of your products. Every sale is a contract between you and the buyer. You are responsible for your products, their legality, their description, and their delivery. Wewo provides the storefront, checkout, payment processing, and dispute moderation — it does not take ownership of your goods.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your province) and legally able to sell what you list.
- One store per seller account. You may not create additional accounts to evade a suspension, a strike, or a fee.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by staff you give access to. Keep your password private and tell us immediately if your account is compromised.
- Account information must be accurate and kept up to date: legal name, contact details, payout details. Operating under a false identity is grounds for immediate termination.
3. Verification — no selling without full verification
- Selling on Wewo requires full verification (level L2). Identity-only verification (L1) does not unlock selling: until L2, your products stay drafts and buyers cannot see or order them.
- Verification is document-based, in two steps: (1) identity — government ID and proof of address; (2) business and payouts — business registration and a connected Stripe payout account. Both steps are reviewed by a human moderator; approval is never automatic.
- Documents must be genuine, current, and yours. Forged, borrowed, or altered documents lead to immediate termination and a permanent ban from opening another store.
- Wewo may re-verify you at any time and may suspend selling while a re-check is pending. If your verification level is lowered below L2 for any reason, your active products automatically return to draft until you are verified again.
4. Plans and fees
- Store plans are billed monthly in advance: Starter $15, Business $35, Pro $79 (CAD). Trial periods, where offered, are shown on the plan before you subscribe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period is not refunded except where required by law.
- Commission: 5% of each order's subtotal is deducted from your payout. Plan fees do not replace commission, and commission does not replace plan fees.
- Wewo may change plan prices or commission with at least 30 days' notice in the seller cabinet. If you disagree, cancel before the change takes effect.
- Fees are never avoided by moving a sale off the platform (see §11). Any attempt to do so is a violation of these terms.
5. Listings
- Every listing must be accurate: title, description, photos, condition, quantity, price, and delivery options must match what the buyer will receive. Misleading listings are removed, and the sale may be refunded at your cost.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout; the price you set is the pre-tax price unless the listing states otherwise.
- You must have the right to sell everything you list: no counterfeits, no stolen goods, no items infringing intellectual property, and no goods you are not authorized to sell.
- Prohibited on Wewo, without exception: illegal drugs and controlled substances; weapons and explosives where prohibited by law; counterfeit goods; hate content and extremist material; sexual services; the sale of personal data; and any item whose sale is illegal in Canada.
- Wewo may edit, hide, or remove any listing that violates these terms or the law, without prior notice, and may do so without refunding plan fees.
6. Orders and fulfilment
- Ship within the time stated on your listing, or within 3 business days if none is stated. Provide tracking where the delivery method supports it.
- If you offer pickup, keep your pickup address and hours accurate. A buyer who arrives to a closed or wrong address may cancel at your cost.
- Keep stock accurate. Repeated cancellations because an item was not actually available count against your store standing and may lead to suspension.
- You may cancel an order only for a genuine reason (item unavailable, buyer request, suspected fraud). Cancelling to avoid a fee, a return, or a bad review is a violation.
7. Payments and payouts
- Buyers pay through Wewo's checkout. For card payments, the money is held by the platform and released to you when delivery is confirmed by the buyer, or automatically 14 days after shipment if unconfirmed — minus the 5% commission and any refunds on the order.
- If a return or dispute claim is open on the order, the payout is held until the claim is resolved. Do not ship a replacement or refund outside the platform while a claim is open; the platform's decision governs the money.
- Payouts go to the Stripe account you connected during verification. You are responsible for keeping payout details correct; payouts sent to details you provided are considered paid.
- Interac orders are handled separately: the platform holds nothing for them, and payout follows the Interac confirmation flow shown in the seller cabinet.
- Wewo may hold payouts during a fraud, verification, or dispute investigation, and may deduct amounts you owe (refunds, chargeback costs, unpaid fees) from future payouts.
8. Returns and refunds
- When a buyer opens a return request, you have 3 days to respond. Silence means the request is automatically approved.
- Items that are not as described, defective, or wrong are returned at your cost and refunded in full. For other returns, the cost follows the outcome of the claim.
- Refunds go to the buyer's original payment method. You may not offer a partial refund or a replacement instead of a full refund when the claim decision says otherwise.
- Abuse of the return system by either side — including serial unjustified returns and refusal of legitimate ones — is a violation.
9. Disputes
- When a buyer and seller cannot agree, either side may escalate to a platform dispute. Wewo moderates on the evidence both sides provide and decides the outcome, including whether the payout is released, held, or refunded.
- Platform dispute decisions are binding for the money held on the platform. They do not prevent either side from pursuing a court claim.
- Ignoring a dispute, withholding evidence, or pressuring a buyer to drop a claim counts against your store standing.
10. Reviews
- Reviews must be honest. You may not write reviews of your own products, pay or incentivize positive reviews, or pressure buyers to change or remove a review.
- Fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews are removed, and the store responsible is penalized.
11. No circumvention
- You may not complete, or attempt to complete, a sale that started on Wewo outside the platform — by direct payment, personal contact, or a competing channel — in order to avoid commission, verification, or buyer protection.
- You may not use buyer contact details obtained through Wewo to solicit off-platform sales. A first violation leads to suspension; a repeat leads to termination.
12. Conduct, strikes, and termination
- Violations are tracked on your store record. Depending on severity and repetition, consequences range from a warning and listing removal to suspension and permanent termination.
- Fraud, counterfeits, forged verification documents, and harassment of buyers or staff lead to immediate termination without a warning step.
- Wewo may terminate or suspend your store at any time for a violation of these terms or the law. Open orders are then completed, cancelled, or refunded as the platform decides; plan fees for the current period are not refunded except where required by law.
- You may close your store at any time from the seller cabinet. Closing does not cancel open orders or erase obligations from sales already made.
13. Taxes
Taxes are calculated at checkout based on the applicable province. You remain responsible for your own tax filings and obligations, including income tax and any sales tax duties that apply to you as a seller. Nothing in these terms makes Wewo your tax agent.
14. Intellectual property
- By listing, you warrant that you own or are authorized to use all photos, text, and trademarks in the listing, and you grant Wewo a licence to display them on the platform for as long as the listing is live.
- Wewo respects intellectual property and removes infringing listings on a valid complaint. Repeated infringement terminates the store.
15. Liability and indemnity
- Wewo's liability to you is limited to the fees you paid to Wewo in the 12 months before the claim arose, except where the law does not allow a limit.
- You indemnify Wewo against claims, losses, and costs arising from your products, your listings, your fulfilment, and your violation of these terms or the law.
16. Changes and governing law
Wewo may update these Seller Terms with at least 30 days' notice in the seller cabinet or by email. Continued selling after the change takes effect means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
